Punch line

The source material for this work is a collection of one hundred episodes of the Looney Tunes television programme (1930 - 1969). Each episode is broken down into a series of individual shots, for which the artists have assigned keywords to each instance of violence or physical extremity: every fall, every explosion, and every anvil. DVDs of each category can be played back via the built-in video player. This dissection and deconstruction of a cartoon is a forensic examination of violence embedded in a popular medium.
