An audience with Mary "Make and Do"

Mary “Make and Do” FitzGerald introduced a lot of us to making. In the 1980’s and 1990’s, Mary presented How do you do? on RTE's Den TV and showed thousands of Irish children how to make everything from Halloween masks to cardboard space stations.

As part of Dublin Mini Maker Faire, Science Gallery will host An Audience with Mary “Make and Do”. Mary will talk about her time presenting the popular programmes, about where she got her creative ideas, what it was like working with Zig and Zag when they invaded her studio, what she enjoyed making most, how she coped when things went wrong and what she is doing now. She will also lead the audience in a “mini make and do session”, and show some of the most memorable moments from the show.

We'll have DVDs with the best of How Do You Do available on the day for €9.95, and Mary will even sign them for you! So join Mary for a trip down memory lane, have some simple fun and revitalise your inner “make and do” spirit!
