Planning on scaring your friends and colleagues this halloween? Why not learn how the professionals do it in the movies? This workshop will show you exactly how to make a realistic latex mask complete with bloody wounds, scars and boils. Over three sessions during October, you will learn the basics of clay modelling around a realistic face model, mould your unique mask in plaster, create a realistic skin effect with latex and then finally, how to add the gory details with fake blood, hair, and whatever other horrors your imagination can think of.
This workshop will be facilitated by Dublin model making and special effects afficionados Bowsie Workshop. Bowsie Workshop went down a storm at Dublin’s Maker Faire in June and have just finished doing the make-up and gore effects on the new horror comedy movie Stitches due out on October 26.
This workshop will be in 3 sessions and will take place in Makeshop on Lincoln Place:
