GAME: NEXT, a 4-day showcase of the very latest in gaming technology from Ireland and further afield, will kick off with a special free launch event from 6-7pm on December 18th. The showcase will then be open from December 18-21 and the include the European premiere of the ultimate virtual reality experience Project Holodeck, featuring the revolutionary new virtual reality headset Oculus Rift.
Nathan Burba and James Iliff brings us Project Holodeck, which is a wearable virtual reality platform built with consumer facing displays, cutting-edge custom software, and creatively integrated motion peripherals. The goal of Project Holodeck is to bring 360-degree fully embodied virtual reality to gamers and technologists alike.

James is a virtual reality enthusiast, filmmaker, techie, and cinefile. In addition to managing Project Holodeck, he blogs about VR, cinema, and tech on his personal site jamesiliff.com. He recently interned at Insomniac Games, and was previously Lead Designer on Shayd, a virtual reality and motion capture installation that utilized the PhaseSpace motion capture system for full-body tracking in an immersive alien world.
