Want to get the inside track with the people leading the field? Crucible are a group of individuals from all walks of life that are working closely together to interact, create and push the boundaries in communicating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) to all that will listen!

Join Crucible for a full day of events hosted at Science Gallery Dublin as part of Inspirefest 2015.

First up is Health Hack, a series aiming to save 3 million lives by looking at the problems and solutions of smoking. During the second half of the day join Full Steam Ahead, a series of short talks from poker playing and tartan tales, to digital revolutions and changing the face of technology. Feel free to join one or both events.

HEALTH HACK

The first section of the day will be held upstairs in the Science Gallery Dublin studios.

09.30: Introduction to the problem of smoking

10:00-11:00: Health Hack team work on smoking solutions

11:00-11.30: Coffee and network session

11:30-12:00: Presenting best of group

12:00-13:00: Lunch

13:00-13:30: Presentation of winners from Health Hack

Since 2005, the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) have funded Crucible events. These events have brought together scientists and innovators who share an interest in communicating and learning from the public with the goal of making a real difference in the world.
