A night of shiny, designy, slightly disturbing splendour
As the hardness of winter advances, retreat to the subtle shimmer of Science Gallery Dublin for a night to revel in all things DESIGN AND VIOLENCE.
The gallery is staying up late to allow for the sometimes-gritty subjects to shine in all their glory. We’re toasting the darker side of design with live music, unique activities, engaging conversations, live experiments and special performances.
We're excited to announce the gutsy rock sounds of Naoise Roo as our headliner and don't miss the experimental electronic beats of Wastefellow to get the party started! Join Michael O'Donovan to explore the peaceful art of Aikido with Dublin Aikido.
Aoife Van Linden Tol, the first artist-inresidence hosted jointly by Ars Electronica and the European Space Agency will lead an interactive exercise and exorcise of the mind. Participants will run through fast-paced activities using visual material which explores how our thoughts can run away with us and how it is possible to take control and re-train the mind using artistic processes which incorporates both psychology and ceremony.
We'll also be confronting taboos as Darragh Doyle speaks with panelists Diane McSweeney, Sarah Durcan, an organiser in the #WakingTheFeminists movement, and REPEAL project founder Anna Cosgrave as they reveal social stigmas surrounding menstruation, abortion, sex education and other silenced issues.
Pop in for this exclusive late-night celebration of our latest exhibition.
