Makeshop, Lincoln Place
Please note that this is a three week course, starting on June 12th and takes place over 3 consecutive Monday evenings.
What you need:
- A laptop that can connect to wifi
- Premission to install software on laptop
The modern smartphone has more computing power than NASA had when they put Apollo 11 on the moon, but your smartphone probably hasn't done anything quite so remarkable... yet! The humble 'app' has come a long way since clunky 20th century computers. They can now be found on everything from watches to fridges, and there's never been a better time to learn how to make your own.
This premium course will walk participants through the design, development and publication processes involved in making their own Android apps. From week one participants will make functioning apps, and between classes will have access to supplementary materials on an online learning management system. By the end of the course you will have learned enough to build your own apps for Android, iOS or Windows Phones. You don't need to be an expert programmer to take part, however a grasp of computing basics is assumed. Additional readings will be provided where required, and we are always available via email. The course is suitable for all ages but we recommend 18+. Under 18s should check out our after schools course.
