Consider this: you have the powers of industry standard music creation and production tools in your pocket— all on your smartphone.
Join SIGNAL curator Martin Clancy, songwriter/musician Gavin MacDermott (Dashoda) and Sarah Byrne, a DJ who produces and sings in electronic band Faune, for an evening of exploration into the iOS apps that will unlock your inner music creator. Absolutely no knowledge required as the best of affordable and fun iOS apps are reviewed. Designed for use by both musicians and non-musicians as well as a demonstration on how to immediately start creating music with your smartphones and tablets.
SIGNAL is a new dedicated series of discussions and interactive demonstrations focused on cutting-edge technology, creativity and music, featuring artists, educators and creative thinkers. The series is run as a collaboration between Science Gallery Dublin and Martin Clancy, a music researcher at the Trinity College Dublin Long Room Hub. Martin is a Certified Ableton Live trainer with over 30 years’ professional experience as both a music producer and an industry professional.
Tickets are 4.99€ Concession (Student, Under 25, Senior, and Unwaged) and 10.00€ General Admission.
Please have an iOS compatible device with you. You will receive a download link for moodscaper before the event so that we can create a mobile orchestra during the event.
