How comfortable are we in our bodies, and with human contact? What intimate details can our bodies give away about how we feel?
This workshop will introduce participants to various drama and theatre techniques as a means of exploring physicality, body awareness and team work. Through practical exercises and games, we will push beyond our day to day physical closeness comfort barriers, and consider moments of physical exchange and interactions from daily life.
This FOR PLAY workshop will be led by Christina Matthews, a facilitator and director based in Dublin. She is the artistic director of Droichead Youth Theatre, and teaches drama, movement and communication with Prosper Fingal, a chain of centres with adults with intellectual disabilities. She is a regular guest lecturer at Trinity College Dublin, teaching stage management, ensemble, and socially-engaged theatre.
