Idea Translation Lab: Class of 2019 Showcase
The theme of this year’s Idea Translation Lab course is PLASTIC, tying in with Science Gallery’s upcoming exhibition of the same name. In the Idea Translation Lab module, Trinity College Dublin undergraduate students work at the boundaries of art, science & engineering to develop original ideas and projects where these disciplines meet. It is a cross-disciplinary course in which students develop entrepreneurial, creative and critical thinking skills through collaborative group projects.
Throughout the Hilary Term, the students have used Science Gallery Dublin as a lab to explore the intersection of art and science, the research and development of new materials, and with their final projects, they propose a range of material futures we might inhabit.
During this event, the students will present an exhibition of their projects, discuss them with visitors, and pitch their ideas in an 8 minute presentation to an expert judging panel and audience.
