On the evening of Friday 5th of July, Science Gallery Dublin will host the first of a series of late events for 15 to 18-year-olds. This event celebrates the role of emerging technology in society, and brings young adults face-to-face with artists, scientists and designers working in the areas of artificial intelligence, robotics, virtual reality, healthcare innovation and art.
During the evening you will be invited to roam around the gallery to the soundtrack of Dreamcycles, diving into byte-sized stations with demonstrations including virtual reality and biomedical engineering, quick and easy electronics workshops, games, screenings of AI-generated movies, and a chance to try out your dance moves to the tunes that artificial intelligence thinks we should be grooving to. The event will also feature ‘Top of the Bots’ artificial intelligence karaoke with artist Libby Heaney, music and mixing workshops, and your chance to shred the “perfect” beauty ideals held up by society! The event takes place amidst our newly opened exhibition PERFECTION, and we’ll have guided tours throughout the evening.
Tickets are free but registration is required — and if you can't make it in person, do keep an eye on our social media channels @scigallerydub to catch some of the action!
July 5th is also the International Day of LGBTQ+ People in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths - Science Gallery Dublin is a proud ally of LGBTSTEMDay.
