Are resurgences in analogue photography poisoning the environment?
While demonstrating his film developing process, photographer Faolán Carey will unpack the importance of plastics in film photography and other environmental implications of the art form. He will discuss his project 'On Our Doorstep', which he has been working on since 2017, one that has environmental and personal significance. There will also be a selection of cameras and film types laid out for visitors to touch and explore.
Faolán Carey is a portrait and documentary photographer whose practice focuses on youth culture and community. He works primarily with 135 and 120 film, utilising the physical nature to capture intimate details of both the landscape and people he photographs with tactility and texture.
