Following five very successful years of making stuff at our pop-up home at Lincoln Place, MAKESHOP is going even more mobile. We’re closing our city-centre based shop and taking MAKESHOP out and about across the country.

If you’re someone who’d like to see our outreach pop up in your area do get in touch at For those of you who love the products at MAKESHOP, our Science Gallery Dublin shop will now have them in stock. You can see more here.

Thanks for supporting us over the last five years, your input has meant that this experiment has become so much more then just a maker space. Please drop by and say ‘hi’ before our last day in-store on 7th April. Keep an eye on our newsletter and social media channels for news of pop-ups taking place in towns and at festivals over the coming months.

Created by Science Gallery at Trinity College Dublin, MAKESHOP is a collaborative space for everyone, exploring and experimenting with design, science, art and technology through hands-on workshops. MAKESHOP is a place where you can learn to solder, make, code create, invent and fix. We cater to all experience and skill levels, welcoming makers aged 4 to 104.

Our pricing structures reflect our mission to provide low-cost and free workshops to community groups and educators.

Want to learn a new skill or increase your knowledge of technology, design and making? Register your interest for one of our longer workshop courses at this link, and we'll send you an e-mail when the next course of your choice is starting.

*Please note that MAKESHOP can get very busy (especially over the holiday periods) so if you would like to come in for a workshop we advise calling ahead to book a slot!

At MAKESHOP we run a number of Premium Workshops which take place over a series of weekday evenings. Premium Workshops are advanced workshops in areas such as app development, 3D design with Blender, website development, Raspberry Pi, and Arduino. To register your interest, click here.

If you are looking for any further information on our Premium Workshops (or anything else, for that matter!) you can drop us a mail at or give us a call on +353 1 662 4416.

Workshops last from about 45 minutes to two hours. All you have to do is choose an item from our menu, and we can begin the workshop right away. Short workshops are a great introduction to basic electronics, soldering and the world of making in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Try your hand at making a simple robot, clockify a record, make a mini amp or chat with our team to select a workshop from our changing menu of activities.
