Science Gallery at Trinity College Dublin is seeking to appoint a new director. This will be an exceptional individual who can offer the creative, cultural leadership and effective management skills that are required to take Science Gallery Dublin into its second decade of development. 

Established in 2008, Science Gallery Dublin is the first venue of its kind in the world, providing a creative platform where talented individuals from across disciplines can bring their foresight and knowledge into play in the development of exhibitions and events where the boundaries of knowledge can be pushed in a non-exclusive way. It attracts more than 400,000 visitors a year, of whom a high proportion are aged between 15 and 25 — a target audience for the gallery. Science Gallery Dublin has also been instrumental in the development of the Global Science Gallery Network, embedded in academic institutions across the world, including King's College, London, the University of Melbourne, the Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru, Michigan State University in Detroit and Ca' Foscari in Venice, with a total of eight international galleries scheduled to be open by 2020.

The successful candidate is likely to be in a leadership position in a gallery/museum/science centre or related organisation and will be able to demonstrate their ability to design and deliver highly innovative exhibition, event and learning programmes. They will have the international networks to carry the authority needed to be a principal player in the STEAM arena, will be able to work effectively within the university environment and the Science Gallery Dublin board, and will cultivate and maintain strong partnerships and relations with core funders and collaborators. An excellent track record in public engagement and a passionate interest in the axis between science, technology, creativity and the arts will be essential.

Salary: €88,078–€116,917 EUR plus benefits
