ARTificial Intelligence Lab - a summer programme for 15 - 18 year olds featuring art, design and robots!
July 1st-5th in Science Gallery Dublin.
A collaboration between the Trinity College Dublin Robotics & Innovation Lab, and Science Gallery Dublin, this week-long summer programme will give you a chance to explore science, engineering, art and design and to work through the creative process of devising technology-based solutions to real-life problems.
What will it involve:
-Introduction to simple programming - learn how to programme a micro-controller board to control physical objects using sensors
- Putting the ART into artificial intelligence - create new design features for an existing robot
- Neural networks and machine learning - what are the kinds of things that robots do best, and where are their limitations?
- Ethics and responsibility in the age of artificial intelligence
- Group Challenge - solve a social issue using robotics or artificial intelligence
This is a course for the curious but the uninitiated, those who have no coding or programming experience, those who are interested in the intersection of art and science, those who are ready to work with others to think creatively and to challenge assumptions. If that’s you, sign up here!
Registration is free. 20 places available. Course runs from 10am - 4pm daily. Lunch is not provided.
As part of this programme, on the evening of Friday 5th July Science Gallery Dublin is hosting one of their famous late events, but this time specifically aimed for 15-18 year olds. It will be themed around artificial intelligence, with live music performances, food, experiments, workshops, talks, games, and much more. As we only have 20 places to offer on the free course, everyone is more than welcome at this event. More details of this will be available as they are confirmed , but register here.
