Communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity in Science

A plenary talk from award winning researcher and communicator, Prof. Aoife McLysaght.

Giving insight into her research field, Aoife kicked off a day long event where teachers worked together with researchers, artists an designers at the frontiers of Irish science to co-design innovative activities for the classroom, encompassing key elements of the new Junior Cycle Science Specification. Addressing future facing issues “Microbes Matter” and “Climate Change - Engineering our Future”, the workshop sessions cut across subject and discipline boundaries and provided scope for teachers to build diverse communities of practice.
