The Glass Room Lab

What can be done to help everyday users think about and use technology differently?

Tactical Tech

Tactical Tech is an international NGO that engages with citizens and civil-society organisations to explore and mitigate the impacts of technology on society. Science Gallery Dublin is delighted to be partnering with Tactical Tech on two projects:

  • What the Future Wants: a thought-provoking, creative intervention about creativity, youth and data literacy.

  • The Glass Room: Misinformation edition - an immersive, self-learning installation that explores how technology and social media platforms are shaping the information that we see, consume and share in our everyday lives.

Join us to take part in workshops and explore interactive apps and visualisations that inspire you to question the information you receive online, and learn the tools you need to have to help spot misinformation in its many guises. We want you to have your say in how technology should be used and how we can better understand it.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Tactical Tech is a Berlin-based, international NGO that explores and mitigates the impact of digital technologies on society. Our mission is to give people the resources they need to make sustainable change in their digital lives, encouraging online privacy, autonomy, and a creative use of technology. Tactical Tech launched The Glass Room project in 2016 to address a growing public awareness around data and privacy, subsequently reaching over 130,000 people in close to 30 countries and generating a global conversation about the impact of big data. Alongside The Glass Room project, activities and co-development workshops by What the Future Wants (WTFW) will be conducted with young people.
