WHAT DO YOU REALLY KNOW ABOUT PLASTIC, AND WHERE DO YOU FIND IT?

Plastic is not just widespread; it is omnipresent. It is in many expected places: electronics, vehicles, buildings, bathtubs, shoes and chairs. Our hospitals, airports, power plants and data server farms are unimaginable without plastic. The Plastic Material Library is a celebration of plastic's properties: durable, mouldable, heat and water resistant, non-corrosive and food safe.

The library displays swatches of all things plastic, and illustrates the incredible diversity and scope of plastic materials. It explores the history and future of plastic as a material, highlighting objects that exist as icons of the new plastic age, as well as things that could not be without plastic or could not be made from anything else. This is a workshop space, so you’re invited to get involved.
